Nice Airport services the incredibly popular tourist region of the Côte d'Azur, home of the Cannes film festival and close neighbour of Monaco, host of the Monaco Grand Prix. Nice itself is one of the jewels in the crown of the French Riviera and is particularly busy in the summer months when tourists arrive from all over Europe and the world to soak up the sun and the glamorous surroundings. Nice Airport (Aéroport de Nice-Côte d'Azur) is located right on the coast of the Mediterranean and is approximately two kilometres south west of Nice itself. The airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 is used by almost all the airlines that service the airport, whilst Terminal 2 is the base for Air France and EasyJet. Some of the British airlines that fly into Nice include BMI-Baby and British Midland, British Airways, FlyBe, Jet2.com, Ryan Air and Thomson Fly.

The Côte d'Azur is a sprawling region that includes must-see cities such as Cannes, Antibes, Monaco, Le Cannet, Menton and Nice itself. It is the perfect location for exploring by car, and as such there are a large number of car-hire companies that are based out of the international airport. There are two terminals within the airport and all the companies (Ada, Budget, Avis, Europcar, National/Citer, Hertz, Libertans and Sixt) have a desk in both locations. Once outside the airport, take the Promenade des Anglais straight into Nice or, for Cannes, the La Provençale (A8/E80).
